The maintenance of wooden floors includes the protection of final coating against the scratches and keeping suitable climatic circumstances in the room. Below please find some key »rules« which you have to follow to keep the nice and resistant parquet.
Protection of final coating against scratches:
Two weeks after lacquering the parquet should be used very carefully.
Put furniture carefully after seven days into the room (do not pull it), lay floor claddings after one month.
In the first month we do not recommend cleaning with water and cleaning agents, during this time do not walk on the lacquered floor with high heels.
Start cleaning the floor after four weeks Clean parquet with vacuum cleaner (a set for cleaning on the lower sideeee should not be rough) or a soft cloth.
Clean spots on the lacquered surface with a damp cloth, if necessary, clean floor with mild household detergents.
The lacquered bottom should not be durably exposed to humidity and water as they damage wood. As regards the cleaning we do not recommend rubbing with rough brushes or strong and rough detergents (we would damage the lacquer, humidity and dust would penetrate into wood),
We can prolong the lacquer's life span, if we coat it with water wax emuslion or similar agent for the parquet care from time to time.
On the below side of chairs' and tables' legs and on the objects, which we move, it is recommendable to stick protective fabric made of felt, with the chairs on the running wheels (special rubber) we use suitable linings for the chairs.
In the rooms, where we always walk on the same narrow zone (corridors, staircases) and in the rooms where we walk with dirty and wet shoes, we recommend the use of suitable carpets.
The carpets should be removed from time to time or face the fact that after some time the parquet under the carpet will become lighter in comparison to the remaining parquet.Under the influence of UV rays, wood namely changes its colour.
Before the room with the parquet we recommend the put a doormat.
Keeping suitable climatic conditions When we do not provide in the room suitable climatic conditions (40 - to 60 % relative air humidity), parquet will not be in such a condition as at the beginning and uneven and wide cracks may appear. We can provide suitable climatic conditions with the use of humidifiers. At the bottom heating it is important, which parquet you put and if you follow the instructions about gradual increse of temperature in the room. You have to be aware of the fact that you can not avoid small cracks completely, inspite of following all instructions, because wood is a live and natural material, which we can never fully manage.
